The Mechanic and I have left our London flat for a few days holiday in the New Forest, Hampshire.

It’s the first week of spring, and exactly forty-seven days until we go to Italy to cycle from the Adriatic to the Tyrrhenian Sea. I’m feeling a little anxious about my fitness levels, so the plan is to do a few days pedalling around the gently undulating roads of the Forest, and put a few kilometres in the cycling bank. In addition I have new shoes so I’ll go faster too!

 

I’ve learnt today, that there are 5000 ponies in the New Forest, and Wild Boar!
